Battling addiction to substance use can be a lonely battle, but it doesn’t have to be. At Calming Currents Psychiatry, we utilize a harm reduction approach to help individuals on their recovery journey.
There are numerous evidence-based options available to help manage substance use disorders and addictions. Treatment for addiction is best done through a multi-channel approach, combining treatments such as medications, therapy, group support programs, and partnering with a sponsor.
At Calming Currents Psychiatry, we are able to provide one piece of the puzzle in your recovery using medication assisted treatment (MAT) for addiction to substances including nicotine, alcohol, and opioids.
After meeting with you to complete an assessment we are also able to make recommendations and referrals to local programs that provide in-depth programming and therapy to support you in your recovery.
We are able to provide the following MAT services:
- Treatment of nicotine dependence including the use of nicotine replacement products like nicotine gum, lozenges, patches, or prescription medications like varenicline (Chantix).
- Treatment of alcohol use disorder including the use of medications like naltrexone, acamprosate, or disulfiram (Antabuse).
- Treatment of opioid use disorder including the use of buprenorphine-naloxone (Suboxone).
